Dwight from Business-supply.com

While inkjet tends to produce the nicer prints, laser is definitely less expensive in the long run. Depending on your printer settings, you can get 2000+ pages off a single laser toner cartridge. A comparable inkjet will get you half as much. Although the laser toner catridge is more expensive, it will last longer. However, for the added cost, a law volume home user may be better suited for an inkjet versus a laser.

Living in Calif asked:

I am hearing that HP dates their cartridges, which means that even if it still has ink in it, when it hits the expiration date on the cartridge, the printer won’t print. Is this true, and if so, is it true for all of their ink, ie. laserjet toner cartridges, inkjet cartridges, etc. Thanks much.

Warren from Business-supply.com

While HP does date their laserjet toner cartridges, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they won’t print past the expiration date. They should print, but the ink and related printing may not look exactly right. This is common on most all laserjet cartridge manufacturers.
